Dalio’s advice for individuals and companies boils down to harnessing the power of feedback, iteration, and improvement in response to failure.
Basically three parts: 1) background on Dalio and Bridgewater (You can skip this) 2) advice for how to live one’s own life 3) principles for engineering and managing a company.
Overall, it’s a good book. The individual principles are good to have in one’s toolbox, and the organizational structuring advice is good if not taken as gospel or in isolation.
Highly recommended for everyone looking to improve their decision-making process. The highlight of this book is that it shows the importance of meta-knowledge for decision making.
This book I started reading on a flight. One of the good looking books. Well typeset. With just 2 colours (Red and Black) the book manages to look good. It’s a thick book. I took 3 weeks to complete it.
