The presence of a video in any document makes it very easy for the learner to understand the concept by heart. This is probably because of its features- the learner can conveniently at any point of time watch it.

Moreover, because of its flexibility of pause, rewind, proceed forward, stop at any point. Creating an effective video can be a little problematic, so for smooth functioning follow some simple steps to create the best for the viewers.

How is video essential for both the learner and the e-learning platform?

The presence of a video in any document makes it very easy for the learner to understand the concept by heart. Watching things rather than just reading them proves to be helpful for the learner. This is probably because of its features- the learner can conveniently at any point of time watch it. Moreover, because of its flexibility of pause, rewind, proceed forward, stop at any point.

It is important that the video created should be clear, concise, and free from all distractions. Videos are a powerful tool that has the capacity to engage the learner for a greater period of time.

Due to its effectiveness, it becomes a responsibility of the eLearning platform to include productive videos. If the videos are influential, then the chances of the learner to stick to the platform increases. That is why it is believed that not only it is beneficial for the learner but also for the e-learning platform as it attracts the maximum engagement and traffic to the site.

However, it is not very easy to create an effective and powerful video that gives its best to the learner. The content delivered via the video should be captivating and capable enough to make the learner understand the topic thoroughly. It is not a simple process to create such a video, but by following certain suggestions or tips you can easily do that. Therefore, listed below are some of the top suggestions about creating the most effective video for an e-learning platform. They are as follows:

  • The e-learning video must be clear and to the point.

It is important that the video created covers the topic in a much concise way. A long video of 20 to 30 minutes might have covered all the points, despite that, it is neglected by the learner. This is because the learner usually finds a long duration video boring as they lose concentration after an average time of 4 to 5 minutes.

In fact, some of the studies say that the human mind finds a video of 4 to 5 minutes much interesting. A video of longer duration might let the learner neglect it. If a topic is long and is being covered in a long video, then the best thing is to split it into 3 to 4 parts. In this way, the entire topic is also covered in detail and the learner can watch in different parts. But remember not to include unnecessary things, keep the video up to the point, nothing extra. This will also create a sense of achievement in the minds of the learner as they finish one video after another.

  • Inclusion of valuable content

The e-learning video must have valuable content that can be viewed even after several years. There are already a lot of videos present online but why only certain videos trend or are viewed more. This is because the content of that video is unique and useful, that people prefer to see after several years.

This can be done by keeping the content full of realistic examples so that the learner can easily relate to it. Secondly, include prominent scientific researches because they are not only useful but also accurate. Learners look for videos that are knowledgeable and their practicality can be easily known. With this, you can secure a long-term viewership for your e-learning platform.

  • Maintain excellent audio quality.

Sound quality is very important to be maintained. Too low or too high volume is never preferred by the learner. The video should be free from all kinds of noises. A clear and soothing voice is all a learner wants. While shooting the video make sure the background is free from noises and the speaker must be clear enough to be audible to the learners.

The narration part is equally important because sometimes the content is fair enough to be engaging, but the speaker’s voice is not accurate. The types of equipment used while shooting the video should be of the best quality so that the sound quality is not disturbed. Moreover, make sure that the speaker uses the correct grammar, accent, and tone; all this is very important from the learner’s perspective

  • Editing the video is a must

A lot can be improved in the editing part of a video. The process of editing helps to eliminate unnecessary things and add some effects so that the video has the perfect look. Do the editing in the narration part if required, so that the final presentation looks effective and flawless

  • Visual elements should be included

It might turn into a boring video if it consists only of the voice and the matter. To avoid boredom in the video, visual elements can be a great helping hand. Short animations or graphics can be added to the video to present the idea or the topic interesting.

The delivery of content should be fascinating because you may have an excellent matter, but the delivery or the way of presenting is not attractive, then the learner won’t prefer to watch it for long.

  • Include some extra activities

Just like in a live interaction, there are sessions where some extra activities take place. But in a video live interactions cannot take place, so activities like quizzes, polls, or surveys and assignments can be added.

Including these activities can be beneficial for you also, as with the help of the surveys or polls you can make the required improvements in the next coming video. And with the quizzes, the learner can easily know their progress in what they understood and what not. Also, allow open-ended questions for the discussions. This will help you to know the views of the learner and at the same time let the learner feel empowered while expressing.

Conclusion

E-learning platform offers various tools to make the learning enjoyable and worthy. As an author of the course, you need to make sure to include interesting and effective tools in it. Including a video is one of those effective tools, so you can follow these simple and easy suggestions to create the most effective video for the learner.
