Top 6 tips to make virtual learning better for humans

BETTER VIRTUAL LEARNING FOR HUMANS

Just like one size of cloth does not fit everyone similarly, an approach taken upon individuals will not be suitable for all the learners.

You should design the content on the virtual platform so that it meets all the needs of each Learner. You can only increase traffic or engagement on the platform when it’s designed according to the demands of the users. Apply these six simple tips to humanize virtual learning.

Work according to the present scenario of the virtual world.

Things change rapidly with time. The same is the case with virtual learning. The needs or demands of the Learner do change with time. The e-learning platform should take special care of this to accept the new normal for the better learning of the Learner. The learners want to have the best learning experience with the latest features.

Virtual learning has witnessed some changes in its process. The previously used techniques on the e-learning platform are not used now because the latest technology has taken its place. This transition is done for the betterment of the Learner so that they might not face any difficulty while learning. Now the needs of the learners are different, or you can say new according to the current situation. The Learner now probably wants these things:

  • Short duration course, including the latest research and realistic examples.
  • The content should be clear and concise.
  • Course-related to the current situations of different countries.
  • The Learner is now much more vigilant and therefore wants to express their views and expectations on the e-learning platform.
  • Wants active participation in the quizzes, puzzles, assignments, polls, surveys, etc.
  • No interruptions in between the classes, whether technical or non-technical, means continuous learning all the time.
  • Fun is equally essential with studies, so short humorous sessions for better learning.
  • They want to be taught by their subject teachers and occasionally by the external subject matter experts of different subjects.

These expectations are genuine from the Learner’s side, so it becomes the duty of the e-learning platform to make virtual learning human friendly for them. The author requires a sincere approach to humanize virtual learning. Like in a traditional offline classroom, the Learner feels safe and secure; similarly, the virtual classrooms should be. Keep in mind that there are different learners whose expectations could be different.

So virtual learning should be such that it fulfils all the anticipations well. The Learner should not feel afraid or even hesitate to express themselves. Here are the top 6 tips that you can use to make virtual learning human friendly for the learners. They are as follows:

1. A video-based approach

Clear communication and healthy interactions work very well with the learners on a virtual platform. Because usually, learners quit the e-learning platform due to the lack of proper support and poor communication. And videos work very well if the trainer or the teacher can easily interact with the Learner. A lot of guidance can be provided to the learners via a video. Video has the power to influence and guide the Learner in the right direction. So, a video-based approach will help you create a human-friendly platform for learners to freely express and clear all their doubts and problems.

2. Include personal experiences.

Including some inspirational personal experience of yourself or some other personality can create a lot of effect on the Learner. The Learner can have an emotional touch with it. And it is found that emotional touch is far more potent than bookish knowledge. The learners might have a soft heart for such stories. In fact, as an author, you can easily relate your personal experience with the concerned topic. This will be a helping hand for the Learner to understand the subject well.

3. Pause for a good cause.

It may sound funny, but pauses are good in between the lectures. This is helpful for both the author and the Learner. If an author pauses for a moment in between the lectures, they can take a breath at the same, giving an excellent chance to the Learner to understand the point and raise a question if not understood. Usually, the learners feel hesitant to express or ask in between the lecture, so pause after 10 to 15 minutes and ask the learners to raise a query. In this way, the Learner also feels essential and connected with the virtual class. It is an excellent approach to human-friendly virtual learning.

4. Invite prominent speakers.

This is an excellent chance for a learner to hear from the prominent speakers of their respective fields. The Learner gets to hear new stories, experiences and discover things beyond their subjects. It is much like a motivational therapy for the learners. For some time, the Learner is interested in the personality they can follow to achieve bigger things in life. Secondly, the learners also get to witness the diverse environment where speakers from all over the world are invited. Multiculturalism is promoted, and the Learner feels connected and happy. This will help the Learner to feel productive, influenced, and motivated.

5. Share examples of prominent startups and entrepreneurs.

This is one of the greatest motivations that a learner can get. If the Learner is presented with a live example of the entrepreneur’s success story, they feel inspired and gain the courage to achieve something in life. Often these examples have the capability of hitting that right chord of the heart of the Learner, which compels them to achieve success. The learners feel more productive, and therefore their overall performance or participation in the virtual class increases.

6. Assign some work at the end.

Just like in our offline mode of a classroom, the students received homework, similarly for the virtual class also assigned them some work. This work can be in projects, assignments, or quizzes. This maintains the concentration level and the interest of the Learner after the class is over. Also, they spend time doing the work given. This makes the Learner consistent throughout the course.

Conclusion

Virtual learning is the new normal of the present scenario. The learning platform must make it human friendly so that the learners can experience the best user experience and feel satisfied.
